The Hampton Children’s Playhouse is one of Melbourne’s best community facilities for young families. It runs as a parent co-operative with support of the Bayside council, and is a place for parents and pre-school children to play and learn together in a safe environment.
The Playhouse was started in 1978 by a group of local mothers. Members can visit any day of the week and bookings are not needed. The Playhouse provides a welcoming, relaxed, caring environment created by members, for members.
Monday - Thursday 9.30am-2pm
The Playhouse operates from late January until mid-December during government school terms.
Note: No school age children are permitted at any time, including school holidays.
The Playhouse is available for use during school holidays but there are no members rostered for duty. Members wishing to use the facility at these times must pick up and return the keys and clean up after themselves, including taking all rubbish.
